Notes & Stills—A Specific Journal Regarding Film & Cinema
This large-format, monothematic journal is based upon and inspired by the subtexts of independent film and art film, influential filmmakers, signature cinematic styles, iconic imagery in film and other relevant and enticing topics within film.

In producing a journal that is driven by investigation and in discovering new ideas surrounding one topic, my objective is to provide new readers with the knowledge and expertise I gained as a researcher and writer.

The theme for this premier issue of Notes & Stills is devoted to the concept of “Mexico in Contemporary Film.” Attempting to find connections and contrasts between two or more films, my essays concentrate on a wide variety of topics, ranging from “The Cinematic Labyrinth of Mexico City” to more individualized topics such as “The Diverse Characterizations of Gael García Bernal.”
